Anyone who purchases prepared food in Magnolia, including visitors. As more people visit and dine here, they help support local improvements. Magnolia residents already pay similar taxes in other Arkansas communities. This helps bring those dollars back home.
On a $10.00 meal, it is 20 cents. On a $50 dinner, it's $1.
The A&P Commission is audited every single year on every dollar collected. By state law, these funds cannot be used for city operations, streets, or general expenses.
Hope, AR is breaking ground on a $24 million aquatic and recreation center built on this same type of tax. Benton's A&P Commission fully paid off a community event center. It's working across Arkansas. Magnolia is ready.
